One year after COVID, God is calling us forward into a new season. Learn to place our faith in, and start to walk in His perfect plan.
Thank God the COVID season appears to be coming to an end!
It’s been exactly year since President Trump declared a state of emergency, and lock downs started around the world, and in that year, many people probably felt stuck, and plans were thrown off track.
But we know that God was not stuck – God is never stuck, and God is always right on time.
He works everything together for our good, and he works everything together towards His will. (Rom 8:28)
And His will is for us to get unstuck and to move forward.
Paul, who wrote two thirds of the New Testament, tells to forget what is behind and move forward towards what is ahead (Phil 3:13)
It’s encoded in how we were created.
We all feel frustrated when we don’t progress, whether it be in our businesses or careers, our relationships.
In our day jobs, some of us are teachers or coaches, some work in corporations, and many of us are also parents.
And we can tell you that our students are frustrated when they get stuck, it doesn’t matter if they’re not doing as well as they should, but they act out when they don’t feel progress.
In careers, the same thing, and those with frustrated teens – need we say more! But something as small as being stuck in traffic will set us off!
Progress and moving forward is so important to us because we are created in God’s image and likeness, and God’s perspective is always forward.
We are called to move forward with Him, forward out of brokenness and sin, God is calling you out from where you are, and He’s calling you towards Him.
The key words there are that we need to go forward with Him. When we start making our own plans, we might think we’re moving forward, but we might just be leading ourselves into a dead end.
Unlike us, God sees the end from the beginning (Is 46:10).
Before He even starts, He knows the end. He is always shifting us forward. All we need is the faith to go forward with Him, in His perfect will for us. He doesn’t want us to go back to the way things were, or even stay still, but to go forward with Him to what He already knows is the perfect outcome, because, as we said right at the start, He works everything together for our good, and he works everything together towards His will. (Rom 8:28)
Remember, His plan might look like our Plan B, or even Plan C – but it’s always better than our Plan A. That’s where we need to put our faith.
Our faith needs to tell us that even through the COVID season – God’s purposes have not failed. What was planned to harm us, God turned it for good. (Gen 50:20)
Many of the churches we know had increase in attendances, and increases in salvations, and recommitments.
Let’s get that perspective, see His hand on our lives, and move forward in His perfect plan.
